Radish Kolobok

Disease resistance and shelf life: the "Kolobok" radish

Growing late-season radish often comes with the risk of soil-borne diseases like fusarium wilt and clubroot, which can devastate a harvest. The "Kolobok" variety from SSPK Agrofirma Mars is designed for those looking for a reliable, late-maturing crop. With a vegetation period of 90–100 days, this is not your typical "fast" market radish; it is a variety built for durability and long-term storage.

Field performance and storage

The cylindrical shape of the root vegetable makes harvesting efficient and straightforward. With its distinctive yellow skin and crisp white flesh, it offers significant advantages for professional cultivation:

• Storage longevity: The dense, firm structure of the root ensures that it remains fresh and crisp in storage far longer than early-spring varieties.
• Natural immunity: Bred by "Heterosis Selection," this variety possesses strong natural resistance to clubroot and fusarium, which significantly reduces the need for chemical fungicides.
• Handling: The uniform shape allows for easy mechanical or manual sorting, reducing labor costs during post-harvest processing.

In practice, "Kolobok" proves that patience pays off. Its immunity to common cruciferous diseases makes it a low-maintenance option for producers who want to avoid aggressive chemical programs. If you are looking for a variety that maintains its texture, flavor, and visual appeal after months of storage, this offering from Agrofirma Mars is a solid addition to any crop rotation plan.
