Radish Faraon

Stable yields from Czech breeders

The 'Faraon' radish variety is a prime example of a crop that doesn't force you to guess whether it will perform or not.

Field observations and performance

From an agronomist's perspective, what makes 'Faraon' stand out is the high level of uniformity in root shape and size. Harvesting becomes significantly faster because there is almost no need for rigorous sorting; the vast majority of the crop hits the mark immediately. The roots hold their shape well and do not crack easily during fluctuations in soil moisture, which is a critical factor during the unpredictable weather of the spring season.

• Germination and vigor: Moravoseed seeds consistently show uniform emergence. This simplifies scheduling for plant protection applications, allowing for consistent treatments across the entire field.
• Stress resistance: The variety shows good tolerance to minor cold snaps and is resistant to premature bolting, provided that irrigation and light requirements are met properly.
• Marketable quality: With a vibrant red color and a thin taproot, it meets the standard market requirements effortlessly. The flesh remains juicy and free of pithiness, even if the harvest is slightly delayed.

Agronomic management

Working with 'Faraon' is straightforward. The crop doesn't require overly complex or specialized management. Basic nutrition, timely irrigation, and standard pest management against flea beetles are sufficient to achieve a high-quality harvest. This variety is very forgiving of minor operational mistakes, making it an excellent choice for those looking for reliability and consistent results without unwanted surprises.
