Radish SUDARUSHKA.

Field Experience: Growing "Sudarushka" Radish

For an agronomist specializing in early-season vegetables, "Sudarushka" from the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing of NAAS is a reliable, predictable, and highly practical tool. Unlike imported hybrids that often demand strict greenhouse environments, this variety is optimized for local climatic conditions, simplifying field management and reducing operational risks.

Operations and Growth Cycle

The variety is known for its plasticity. The timeframe from emergence to harvest is roughly 25–30 days, which makes it an ideal candidate for continuous harvesting schedules. The root vegetables are uniform, vibrant red, with crisp, white, juicy flesh. A key advantage for operators is the variety's resistance to bolting, which is vital during the fluctuating spring temperatures common in this region. This stability makes "Sudarushka" a safe choice for both greenhouse and open-field cultivation.

Efficiency and Productivity

• Seed Economy: High germination rates allow for efficient use of seeds without needing extra density.
• Uniform Maturity: The harvest ripens evenly, drastically reducing the labor and time required for grading and sorting.
• Disease Resistance: Genetic robustness minimizes the need for heavy fungicide applications, keeping production costs low.

The variety is responsive to standard agronomic practices—regular irrigation and soil aeration are sufficient for optimal growth. There is no need for expensive, specialized stimulants. "Sudarushka" is the pragmatic choice for those who prioritize long-term reliability and marketability of the final product.
