Radish Carmina

Stable yields with a Czech pedigree

When choosing seeds for radish production, many growers prioritize the balance between early maturity and stress resistance. The 'Carmina' variety from the Czech breeding company Moravoseed is a prime example of where predictable results outweigh the urge to experiment with unproven novelties.

Practical cultivation insights

In the field, 'Carmina' performs like a true workhorse. Here are the key takeaways from managing this variety:

• Adaptability: The variety thrives in both open field conditions and plastic tunnels. Its compact foliage allows for high-density planting without compromising root development.
• Disease resistance: In practice, this radish shows robust resistance to common rots, which is crucial during periods of high humidity.
• Harvesting: The roots are uniform with a bright, glossy red finish. The skin is thin yet firm, facilitating easy washing and reducing mechanical damage during harvest.

Commercial value and quality

The interior remains juicy and crisp, with firm white flesh and a signature mild, peppery flavor. This makes the final product highly desirable for both retailers and end consumers, as the roots retain their firmness and freshness on the shelf.

Working with Moravoseed is efficient: the seeds consistently show high germination rates, allowing for precise seeding calculations and avoiding the costs associated with reseeding. It is a reliable choice for those focused on consistency, quality, and marketability in every rotation.
