Radish Mondial F1

Consistent yields in challenging conditions

Choosing a radish hybrid is always about balancing maturity dates with stress tolerance. Mondial F1 from the Dutch breeding company Rijk Zwaan has proven itself as a reliable tool for farmers who refuse to compromise on root quality. The primary goal of this hybrid is to ensure a predictable harvest cycle despite unpredictable weather conditions.

Cultivation and plant health

The key advantage of Mondial F1 lies in its complex genetic resistance, which minimizes the need for fungicide applications. Rijk Zwaan's breeding program has achieved high resistance to:

• Verticillium wilt;
• Fusarium wilt;
• Cladosporium;
• Tomato mosaic virus (crucial for intercropping or greenhouse rotations).

This makes Mondial F1 an ideal choice for both professional greenhouse operations and intensive open-field production. The roots are highly uniform: during large-scale harvesting, you get produce that meets strict retail standards, free from the pithiness or cracking often caused by temperature fluctuations.

Why choose Mondial F1

Field experience shows that this hybrid performs exceptionally well even in high-density plantings without sacrificing root diameter. In intensive vegetable farming, this maximizes output per square meter. The roots are easy to pull, have an attractive appearance, and show excellent shelf life after washing, which simplifies supply chain logistics. Using this hybrid frees the agronomist from constant monitoring for early signs of disease — the genetic shield remains active throughout the entire growing season.
