RUT PAVAR is an early hybrid of the large-fruited pumpkin (Cucurbita maxima Duchesne) with a sprawling plant and a medium length of the main vine. Leaves are of medium size, green and undivided. Fruits have a flat-round shape, dark green color with yellow spots, bumpy texture and a segmented surface with grooves of medium depth. The average fruit weight is about 1.1 kg. The flesh is yellow, medium thickness, crispy and low in juice content, with good taste. The seed cavity is of medium size with dense placentas; seeds are large, elliptical and white. The yield of marketable fruits reaches 1.8 kg per square meter, and fruits retain their marketable qualities for up to 50 days after harvest. A feature of the RUT PAVAR hybrid is its use as a rootstock for watermelon. This interspecific hybrid is distinguished by fast and uniform germination, as well as excellent grafting compatibility regardless of the grafting method. Plants grafted on the RUT PAVAR rootstock exhibit high resistance to fusarium wilt, which significantly enhances their viability and productivity. Furthermore, using RUT PAVAR as a rootstock contributes to the formation of more powerful plants that better withstand stressful and unfavorable conditions such as cold, wind, high temperature, drought and depleted soils. This positively affects the overall yield and fruit quality, making this hybrid a sought-after choice for agricultural production.
