Pumpkin ORANGE PRESERVE

Practical insights on growing the 'Orange Jam' pumpkin

In agriculture, reliability is everything. When planning the season, you need a crop that doesn't demand constant micromanagement but delivers consistent results. 'Orange Jam' (Orazhevoe Varenye), a variety developed by Euro-Semena and breeder Yuri Tarasov, is exactly that kind of workhorse. It is tailored for growers who value predictability: the fruits consistently hit the 2–3 kg mark, making them perfect for both retail and processing.

Field performance and post-harvest handling

The main headache for any pumpkin grower is post-harvest logistics and shelf life. This variety shines here thanks to its excellent storage capabilities. It doesn't require immediate sale; the fruits maintain their structure and density in storage for months, which is a major advantage for seasonal business planning.

• Weight management: The 2–3 kg fruit is the "golden standard" for buyers. It fits easily into bags, minimizes waste at the point of sale, and is convenient for household use.
• Processing utility: The texture is ideal for home preservation, living up to its name. It retains color and consistency, which is a big plus for those producing artisanal batches.
• Agronomics: The variety isn't overly demanding. It responds well to standard irrigation and basic fertilization protocols, allowing for a healthy yield without the need for expensive or complex inputs.

If you are looking for a variety that won't let you down during the winter months, the 'Orange Jam' from Euro-Semena is a solid, professional choice. It is a practical tool for any vegetable grower aiming to minimize risks while securing a high-quality, long-lasting product that consumers genuinely want.
