Mieluna F1 is an early-maturing hybrid pumpkin variety developed by the Japanese company Sakata, featuring attractive fruits with rich orange skin and bright yellow flesh. The fruits have a flattened-round shape and weigh between 1 to 3 kg, possessing thin skin and aromatic, sweet flesh with high content of dry matter and sugars. Due to these qualities, the variety is ideal for fresh consumption, home cooking, and processing, and also stores well for a long time while maintaining its taste and nutritional properties.
The flesh of Mieluna pumpkin is characterized by a dense and crispy texture, bright orange color, and distinct muscat aroma. In terms of carotene content, it surpasses carrots by 2-3 times, making this variety especially beneficial for dietary nutrition. Regular consumption of pumpkin contributes to improved digestion, metabolism, elimination of toxins from the body, and strengthening of the immune system.
Growing Mieluna is possible through seedlings or direct sowing into the ground at soil temperatures not lower than +15°C. The plant requires care, including pinching of side branches and the main stem after the formation of several fruits, regular watering, weeding, loosening, and fertilizing with complex fertilizers. For better root system development, it is recommended to slightly mound the plant with moist soil. The variety demonstrates good resistance to diseases and stresses, which contributes to a stable harvest and high fruit quality.
