Pumpkin KROSHKA

Practical Potential of the 'Kroshka' Variety

For farmers focusing on stable yields and excellent post-harvest shelf life, the 'Kroshka' pumpkin variety from VNIIOOB serves as a reliable asset. As a mid-season variety, it combines advanced breeding expertise to deliver consistent quality and predictable performance for commercial operations.

Field Performance and Management

The plant features a vining growth habit, requiring careful attention to planting density to ensure proper ventilation and sunlight exposure. The uniform, round shape of the fruits simplifies both harvesting operations and downstream logistics. The genetic background developed by VNIIOOB, in collaboration with the Gavrish breeding firm, ensures that this variety adapts well to specialized horticultural environments.

Scenarios for Practical Application

• Long-term Storage: 'Kroshka' is renowned for its excellent storage durability. This enables growers to market their produce during the winter months, avoiding the peak supply saturation and capitalizing on higher off-season demand.
• Culinary and Processing: The round shape is highly efficient for processing, whether it involves industrial puree production or domestic culinary use. Its structural integrity ensures consistent quality throughout the supply chain.
• Transportation: The robust skin and fruit structure provide excellent transportability, a critical factor for farmers supplying retail distribution networks.

Incorporating 'Kroshka' into a crop rotation allows farmers to achieve a predictable outcome with well-defined commercial parameters. By choosing this variety, producers benefit from the rigorous standards of Russian agricultural research, ensuring that the final output meets market requirements for quality and appearance.
