Description DONSKAYA SLADKAYA
DONSKAYA SLADKAYA is a mid-season variety of large-fruited pumpkin (Cucurbita maxima Duchesne), characterized by a maturation period from germination to harvest of about 120-125 days. The plant is long-vined with medium vigor, featuring large pentagonal green leaves. The fruits are round-flattened in shape, gray in color without netting or pattern, with a thin leathery rind and a weight ranging from 6.5 to 8.2 kg. The flesh is bright orange, thick, crunchy, and sweet, with low juice content, ensuring excellent taste qualities. The variety is distinguished by high marketable yield—about 17.9 tons per hectare, as well as good transportability and storability of fruits. It possesses drought resistance and medium susceptibility to bacterial spot and powdery mildew, making it a reliable choice for growing in various climatic conditions. DONSKAYA SLADKAYA is recommended for use in the North Caucasus, Middle Volga, and Lower Volga regions. This pumpkin is versatile in application: it is suitable for canning industry, juice and puree production, and is widely used in home cooking. Thanks to its taste qualities and flesh structure, the variety is excellent for preparing a variety of dishes, providing a rich sweet taste and an attractive appearance.
