The Yula pumpkin variety is a large-fruited, medium-maturing variety of Russian selection, developed by G.A. Khimich, I.B. Korotceva, and M.V. Kochetkov. The fruits of this variety have a round shape and a gray color without a pattern, which acquires a bluish tint at full maturity. The weight of the fruits varies from 1.5 to 2 kg, with a maximum weight of up to 4.5 kg, and according to some data, up to 5 kg. The average yield is 2.3-2.7 kg per square meter.
Yula pumpkin flesh is reddish-orange in color, starchy, of medium density and juiciness, making this variety especially suitable for home cooking, juice making, and baby food. Dense and sweet flesh ensures a pleasant taste, while a thick layer of flesh promotes versatile use in various dishes.
The variety is characterized by good transportability and a long storage period — fruits retain their commercial quality for up to 215 days after harvest. Yula is a moderately climbing and undemanding variety, which facilitates its cultivation and makes it attractive for gardeners seeking large and tasty fruits with good preservation.
