Kashtanka

Castanka is a variety of pumpkin characterized by bright orange fruits with a distinctive pear shape and a long neck. The fruits weigh 2-3 kg, are clearly segmented, and covered with reddish-orange skin. The pumpkin flesh is dense, yellow, sweet, and non-fibrous, resembling potatoes in consistency. The variety's feature is a distinct taste with notes of chestnut and a light nutty undertone, making it unique among other pumpkins. Castanka is rich in vitamins A, B, C, E, as well as microelements and amino acids, making it healthy and nutritious.

The plant is a vining vine that requires support for growth and prefers warm weather. Seeds are sown at an air temperature of about 14-15°C, and fruits ripen in 120-130 days after planting. Care for the crop includes regular watering and fertilization, which contributes to obtaining a quality harvest. The variety stores well, allowing the pumpkin to be used for a long time after harvesting.

Castanka can be used diversely in cooking: its flesh is suitable for frying, baking with added cream and hard cheese, making cream soups and purees. The dish taste turns out to be rich and sweet, while carrots or potatoes can be added to soups and purees for flavor variety. Thanks to its dense structure and sweetness, this pumpkin variety will be an excellent ingredient for various recipes, including original casseroles and side dishes.
