The Khersonskaya pumpkin variety belongs to mid-ripening types with a vegetation period ranging from 115 to 139 days, depending on growing conditions. The plant is characterized by medium vigor and medium-length main stem, with a moderate number of tendrils. Leaves are round, small in size, and green. Fruits have a rounded-flat or oval-flat shape, slightly segmented, with gray or dark-gray skin, sometimes with mottled patterns and light-gray stripes and spots. Average fruit weight ranges from 3.1 to 7 kg, making the variety quite productive. The flesh of Khersonskaya pumpkin has a dense, juicy, and tender texture, with an intense yellow or dark-orange color. Taste qualities are high — the flesh is sweet and pleasant, making it ideal for table use. The seed cavity is medium-sized with an intense yellow placenta. The variety has good resistance to white rot, enhancing its reliability during cultivation. Khersonskaya pumpkin is characterized by good transportability and storability, allowing fruits to be stored for up to 24 months without quality loss. Due to these features, the variety is suitable for universal use: it can be used for culinary processing, freezing, and long-term storage. Seeds are recommended to be sown when soil temperature reaches 12°C, at a depth of 4-5 cm, with a seeding rate of 0.4 g/m². Yield reaches 27.9 t/ha, making it attractive for commercial cultivation.
