Gribovskaya Kustovaya 189 is an early-maturing pumpkin variety of the hard-skinned group, intended for growing in the central region. The plant has a bush type with vigorous growth and spiny leaves, which have a pentagonal shape and a long petiole over 30 cm. The maturation period is from 85 to 100 days, which allows harvesting from July to September. It is recommended to grow it on sunny plots with sandy loam, light, and medium loam fertile soils with low acidity and regular watering. The fruits of the variety have an inverse-egg-shaped, oval, or cylindrical shape with a weakly ribbed or smooth surface. Their mass varies from 1.5 to 6 kg, while usually two fruits are formed on one plant. The rind is thin but hard, the color at full maturity is light orange with green or dark green spotted festoons. The pulp is thick, dense, juicy, and yellow with an excellent sweet taste, which makes the pumpkin suitable for fresh consumption, home cooking, as well as for diet and therapeutic nutrition. The seed cavity is large and filled with loose placenta. The variety is distinguished by good storability and high transportability, which ensures the preservation of fruits for up to three months after harvest. The yield is from 29.9 to 39.8 tons per hectare. Gribovskaya Kustovaya 189 possesses resistance to bacterial disease, powdery mildew, and fruit rots, which facilitates care and reduces crop losses. Sowing seeds is recommended from late April to early May, and transplanting seedlings from late May to early June with an adherence to a planting scheme of 60 by 60 cm or 150 by 90 cm.
