Description Skarb
Scarab watermelon is a medium-late, high-yielding variety with a vegetation period of 86 to 100 days. The fruits have a round-oval shape with a smooth surface and a distinctive pattern of wide dark-green stripes on a light-green background. The weight of the watermelons ranges from 3 to 9 kilograms, with an average marketable fruit weight of 4-5 kilograms. The rind is of medium thickness, ensuring good storage life up to two months.

The flesh of the Scarab watermelon is pink, tender, granular, very juicy and sweet. The content of soluble solids reaches 9.2-10.9%, and the sugar level is about 8%, providing high taste quality rated at 4.7-4.8 points. Vitamin C content in the flesh is approximately 9 mg%. Due to its taste and market qualities, the watermelon is suitable for both fresh consumption and pickling.

The variety is characterized by high yield — up to 40 to 50 tons of marketable fruit per hectare. Scarab watermelon is resistant to diseases such as Fusarium wilt and anthracnose, enhancing its reliability in cultivation. The crop is warm- and sun-loving, preferring light, fertile soils. For sowing, seeds should be planted at a depth of 3-5 cm at soil temperature of +20-25°C, ensuring germination within 5-6 days.
