Pumpkin Butternut de Luxe

Why «Butternut de Luxe» has become a garden favorite

When planning butternut squash plantings, the main criteria are always yield stability and fruit predictability. «Butternut de Luxe» from «Svitiaz» is a case where varietal characteristics remain consistent.

Growth patterns and care

The plant has strong vigor, so when preparing beds, ensure enough space as the vines spread actively. In temperate climates, this is an advantage: even with a cooler summer, the crop manages to form a full harvest. Maintenance comes down to standard agronomic practices: timely watering, especially during the flowering period, and pruning if space is limited. Unlike many hybrids, this variety is predictable in terms of disease resistance, which reduces the need for excessive chemical treatments.

Harvest characteristics

Fruits weighing 5–8 kg require careful handling during harvest. The elongated cylindrical shape with a characteristic bulb at the end is not only visually appealing but also kitchen-friendly: these squashes are easy to slice. A weight of 5–8 kg is perfect for several family meals, with the flesh remaining dense and firm even after long storage.

• Storage: When kept at the correct temperature in a cellar or pantry, the fruit retains its commercial quality until spring.
• Taste profile: A pronounced nutty aroma and high sugar concentration make this variety indispensable for soups, roasting, and baby food.
• Efficiency: The commercial yield per plant is quite high, making the use of «Svitiaz» seeds a cost-effective choice.

If you are looking for a squash that won't cause trouble in the field and will delight you with its quality in the kitchen, «Butternut de Luxe» is a reliable choice. It is a classic butternut type that is forgiving of minor agronomic mistakes and guarantees a stable result.
