MUSCAT PROVENCE

Muscat Provence Pumpkin — a mid-season variety with a ripening period of 110 to 125 days, intended for cultivation in open ground. The fruits of this variety are characterized by large sizes: weight varies from 5 to 15 kg, and diameter reaches 40-50 cm. Pumpkins have an oval flattened shape with deep ribs, giving them a decorative appearance. The rind of the fruits is thick and hard, colored in brownish-orange or ochre shades, which ensures good preservation during long-term storage. The pumpkin flesh is bright orange, dense, juicy, and sweet with a pronounced muscat aroma, making this variety especially attractive for culinary use. Muscat Provence Pumpkin is widely used for preparing purees, soups, gratins, pies, and other dishes, and can also serve as a decorative element of the interior thanks to its striking shape and coloring. The structure of the flesh differs in excellent quality, which confirms the high value of the variety for both fresh consumption and processing. The plant is characterized by powerful vines requiring enough space for normal development. The recommended planting density is from 6 to 10 thousand plants per hectare, which allows obtaining a yield of up to 100 tons from one hectare. The variety differs in high productivity and ease of cultivation, however it requires attention to protection from such pests as powdery mildew, melon aphid and mollusks to preserve plant health and crop quality.
