AUGUSTINA is a high-yield variety of muskmelon pumpkin with a period from germination to fruit maturity of 105-110 days. The fruits have a cylindrical or guitar-shaped form, dark green color with light spotting, and a smooth surface. The average weight of the fruits is 4-5 kg, which makes this variety convenient for various culinary purposes.
The pumpkin flesh is bright orange, dense, crunchy, and very sweet with a fatty-nutty aroma. It is rich in fiber, pectin, vitamins, mineral salts, and carotenes, which makes the product not only tasty but also healthy. The pumpkin can be consumed raw, for example, in salads, which is the most beneficial way to use it. It also goes great for baking, stewing, preparing porridges, soups, purees, pancakes, and baking, while the taste of thermally processed flesh retains its richness and aroma.
For successful cultivation of the AUGUSTINA variety, it is recommended to use loamy and light loam soils. Sowing is conducted after the soil warms up to 10-12°C, seeds are buried at a depth of 5-10 cm, and 2-3 seeds are sown in one hole. After seedlings appear, weak plants are removed, which contributes to the formation of strong and healthy fruits.
