Description ASPİA
Potato Aspia — a mid-season table variety developed at the All-Russian Research Institute of Potato Growing. Tubers have a round-oval shape, light beige or yellow skin with a smooth and slightly netted surface. Flesh is light yellow, does not darken when cut, and eyes are small and pink. The mass of marketable tubers ranges from 70 to 120 grams, with 6–10 tubers per plant. Starch content is within 12–14%, ensuring good taste and versatility in cooking, including soups and frying. The variety is characterized by high yield — 380–440 centners per hectare, with tuber marketability of 80–91%. Storage capacity is high, reaching 95%, allowing long-term preservation of product quality. Aspia is resistant to serious diseases such as potato blight and golden potato cyst nematode, significantly reducing the risk of crop loss. However, the variety is moderately susceptible to phytophthora both on foliage and tubers, requiring timely preventive measures during cultivation. Potato Aspia is recommended for cultivation in various regions and is suitable for both home and industrial use due to its combination of high yield, good taste, and resistance to major diseases. Its versatility and reliability make this variety an attractive choice for farmers and gardeners aiming to obtain quality and tasty potatoes.
