VK 21 SUR ZU — ultra-early sunflower variety with a vegetation period of 74 to 80 days, significantly shorter than traditional varieties, allowing for a second crop per year after winter crops. This variety is distinguished by its unique early maturity, making it especially valuable for cultivation in northern regions with a short frost-free period of no less than 110 days. The latest sowing date is July 20; seedlings withstand frosts down to -7°C, ensuring reliability and stability of yield under various climatic conditions. Plants are low-growing, 145 to 170 cm tall, with a flower head diameter of 19–23 cm. The potential yield of this variety ranges from 24 to 35 centners per hectare, and oil content in seeds reaches 46–48%, making it attractive for producing high-quality sunflower oil. The variety is resistant to lodging, drought, and various diseases, ensuring stable results even under stressful growing conditions. VK 21 SUR ZU is recommended for cultivation in all climatic zones of Ukraine, including northern regions. Thanks to its high resistance to adverse factors and a wide sowing window (from April 15 to July 20), this variety offers flexibility in agronomic practices. Seeds are treated with a complex of fungicides (thiram, thiabendazole, metalaxyl-M), providing additional protection against diseases and contributing to high-quality yields.
