Hybrid sunflower variety known as "Klaus" is an ultraprecocious type, characterized by rapid maturation and effective water shedding. These features make it particularly suitable for cultivation in arid regions with short growing seasons. The hybrid is adapted to late sowing dates and exhibits resistance to G+ races of downy mildew, ensuring stable yields even under challenging agroclimatic conditions.
Hybrid "Klaus" demonstrates high resistance to various stress factors, including drought and lodging, as confirmed by high resistance scores — 8 and 9 respectively. It also shows resistance to major sunflower diseases such as fusarium, fusariosis, white and gray rot, as well as powdery mildew, significantly reducing the risk of yield losses. Additionally, this hybrid is resistant to herbicides of the imidazolinone group, used in the Clearfield® system, enabling effective weed control and enhancing the quality and quantity of the harvested yield.
Oil content in the seeds of this hybrid reaches 52%, and its yield potential is approximately 58 centners per hectare, making it attractive for agricultural production. Despite favorable agronomic characteristics, the sunflower oil market faces pressure due to declining global prices for vegetable oils, driven by economic factors and changes in global trade. Nevertheless, hybrid "Klaus" retains its advantages thanks to its high adaptability and resistance, ensuring stable production of high-quality raw material for processing.
