Rodina

The Rodina potato variety is a medium-early table-type Ukrainian selection with a vegetation period of 101 to 112 days. The tubers have an elongated-oval shape and pink skin, which is smooth with shallow eyes. The average weight of one tuber is about 95.6–97.7 grams, and the flesh is light cream-colored. The variety is distinguished by high taste qualities, rated 3.9 out of 5, and starch content ranging from 13.3% to 14.5%, making it versatile for various culinary purposes, including boiling and baking.

Rodina is characterized by high yield and resistance to adverse climatic conditions. Potential yield, when agronomic practices are followed, reaches 44–61 tons per hectare. The variety has high storability, rated 8 out of 10, ensuring long-term storage without quality loss. Additionally, the potato withstands mechanized harvesting and transportation without damage or deformation.

Special attention should be given to the disease resistance of the Rodina variety: it is resistant to potato cancer and moderately resistant to stem nematode and late blight. High drought resistance and resistance to potato rot make this variety especially attractive to farmers and gardeners. Due to its characteristics, Rodina has quickly gained popularity among both professional producers and hobbyists, becoming one of the leaders among modern high-yield potato varieties.
