Sunflower NS FANTAZIJA

Serbian Breeding for Consistent Yields

The «NS Fantazija» sunflower hybrid, developed by the renowned IFVCNS (Novi Sad) institute, has established itself as a staple for farmers operating in volatile climatic zones. Serbian breeding is widely recognized for its exceptional adaptability to diverse soil conditions, and this hybrid is a prime example of such resilience.

With a vegetation period of 110–120 days, the hybrid offers excellent plasticity, allowing for predictable performance across different seasons. The plant height, ranging from 170–180 cm, is optimized for modern harvesting machinery, ensuring minimal grain loss and efficient throughput. However, the true value of this hybrid lies in its robust genetic defense system.

Phytosanitary Potential

In modern intensive farming, managing soil-borne diseases is crucial. «NS Fantazija» offers enhanced resistance to common pathogens:

• Downy mildew (Peronospora): strong genetic resistance.
• Charcoal rot: high tolerance, enabling cultivation in drought-prone regions.
• Phomopsis and various rots: the Novi Sad breeding program focuses on minimizing the impact of these threats, reducing the need for extensive fungicide applications.

The economic viability of the hybrid is supported by a high oil content, consistently reaching 45–50%. This makes it a highly liquid asset for processing facilities seeking quality raw materials. «NS Fantazija» is designed for farmers who value proven European genetics, prioritizing consistent performance, disease resistance, and high oil yield within standard agronomic frameworks.
