Sunflower Phenom is a medium-maturing, simple hybrid developed for conventional cultivation techniques under various climatic conditions in Ukraine, including forest-steppe, northern and central steppe zones. The vegetation period is 109-113 days, ensuring timely maturity and high productivity. Plants reach an average height of 160-180 cm, which contributes to resistance against stem lodging and facilitates crop management.
Hybrid Phenom is characterized by high yield, reaching up to 5.5 tons per hectare, and high oil content in seeds — from 48% to 53%. Seed moisture content is within 20-22%, facilitating processing. A distinctive feature of this hybrid is its high drought resistance, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in arid regions. Additionally, Phenom exhibits high tolerance to major sunflower diseases, including powdery mildew, rust, fomopsis, fomosis, alternaria, and fire blight, as well as resistance to seven strains of Sclerotinia.
Due to its characteristics, sunflower Phenom is suitable for intensive and moderately intensive cultivation, ensuring stable and high yields. Its high oil content and disease resistance make this hybrid attractive for farmers seeking quality raw material for oil production. Phenom is recommended for cultivation in various agroclimatic zones of Ukraine, particularly in conditions where drought and disease resistance are critical.
