Sunflower LG 50479 SX

The LG 50479 SX hybrid by Limagrain is a high-performance solution designed for farmers utilizing the ExpressSun production system. As a product of French selection from the Semlima originators, this sunflower hybrid is engineered to maximize profitability by streamlining weed management without compromising the crop's genetic potential.

Agronomic Performance and Disease Control

With a vegetation period of 108–115 days, LG 50479 SX fits perfectly into various climate zones, ensuring steady development from emergence to physiological maturity. A major strength of this hybrid is its robust immune system. It offers strong resistance to downy mildew (Peronospora), paired with solid tolerance against Sclerotinia and powdery mildew. This combination allows producers to spend less on intensive fungicide applications while maintaining a healthy, high-yielding crop.

Key Benefits for Modern Farming

• Weed Management: Specifically designed for herbicide-tolerant systems, allowing for efficient control of difficult broad-leaved weeds.
• Genetic Resilience: Advanced resistance to common pathogens reduces the risk of crop failure, even in wet or high-pressure disease environments.
• Predictable Yield: Provides consistent performance in terms of grain filling and harvest quality, making it a reliable choice for commercial farming.

For the best results, LG 50479 SX should be managed with standard density practices to prevent inter-plant competition. Its growth habit ensures uniform maturation, which is an advantage during the harvest phase. This hybrid is best suited for growers looking for a balanced approach: intensive weed control capability coupled with a reliable safety net against traditional sunflower diseases.
