Description Knyaginya
The Princess potato variety is a medium-maturing table type developed by the Institute of Potato Breeding of NAAN. It was created by crossing popular varieties Bella Rosa and Slavyanka, combining the best traits of these plants. Princess is characterized by high yield, averaging 68–70 tons per hectare, and under optimal growing conditions such as irrigation and fertilization, it can exceed 100 tons per hectare. This variety features a strong stem capable of effectively suppressing weed growth, simplifying crop maintenance.

The Princess potato is adapted to various climatic conditions and soil types, making it suitable for cultivation in steppe and forest-steppe regions. It is drought-resistant, resistant to degeneration, and exhibits high plasticity, ensuring stable yields even under adverse conditions. Additionally, the variety demonstrates high resistance to several diseases, including late blight, potato cancer, rust, and moderate resistance to common scab and fusarium, significantly reducing crop losses and the need for frequent chemical treatments.

Princess potato tubers have a round shape and light pink skin, with yellow flesh. The starch content in the tubers is 14–15%, and dry matter content is approximately 19.5%, ensuring good taste qualities rated 8 points on consumer criteria. Due to its high resistance to mechanical damage and good storability, this variety is suitable for both private home gardens and commercial production. Princess potato is in high demand on the market and is well-suited for various culinary purposes.
