Description CANBERRA
The Canberra potato is a medium-early table variety of Dutch selection, characterized by oval tubers with red skin and light-yellow flesh. The vegetation period is 65-80 days, allowing for harvest within relatively short timeframes. The average weight of marketable tubers ranges from 93 to 145 grams, and the number of tubers per plant reaches 7-12. The starch content is within 14.0-18.0%, making this variety suitable for various culinary purposes, including baking and mashing. The taste qualities of Canberra potatoes are rated as good, and the tuber storability reaches 95%, ensuring long-term storage without quality loss.

The Canberra variety plant is characterized by medium or high growth, intermediate type, and semi-upright form. Leaves are of medium or large size, colored green or dark green, and the flower cluster varies from medium to large size with moderate anthocyanin pigmentation on the inner side. Tubers have small or medium-depth eyes, facilitating processing and cleaning.

The variety exhibits resistance to a range of diseases, including potato cancer and golden potato cyst nematode. Additionally, Canberra shows moderate resistance to late blight of foliage and tubers, enhancing harvest reliability. The yield of this variety ranges from 174 to 275 centners per hectare, with maximum yields reaching 463 centners, significantly exceeding the standards of some other varieties. The tuber marketability is within 87-96%, confirming high product quality. Recommended for cultivation in the Central region of Russia.
