Sunflower SF 1561 MIA

Advanced weed control with French breeding technology

The SF 1561 MIA sunflower hybrid by Soltis is engineered for producers who prioritize yield stability and effective field management. Developed through the joint expertise of Soltis, Rustica Semena, and Semlima, this simple hybrid is specifically designed to work within the CLEARFIELD (Euro-Lightning) production system.

Field performance and benefits

Choosing SF 1561 MIA is a strategic decision for farms dealing with heavy weed pressure or parasitic plants like broomrape (Orobanche). The herbicide tolerance built into the hybrid’s genetics allows farmers to perform post-emergence weed control without compromising crop health. Key practical advantages include:

• High efficacy against broadleaf and grass weeds.
• Significant reduction in manual or mechanical weed management efforts.
• Optimal resource allocation (nutrients and water) for the sunflower plants rather than weeds.

This hybrid displays a strong adaptive response to various environmental stressors. Whether facing fluctuating temperatures or periods of moisture deficit, SF 1561 MIA maintains a steady growth rhythm, ensuring that the final crop meets the standards for high oil content and overall grain quality.

Application tips for growers

To achieve the best results, herbicide application must be timed carefully, typically during the 2–4 true leaf stage of the crop. This timing provides the most robust protection window, preventing competition during the critical early development phase. By integrating SF 1561 MIA into your crop rotation, you are choosing a proven, technology-driven solution that simplifies logistics and secures your yield potential in demanding agricultural conditions.
