Potato variety Sprint is an early-maturing table variety with a vegetation period of 60-75 days, allowing the first harvest to be taken as early as day 45 after emergence of seedlings. The plant is of medium to high height with upright or semi-upright growth habit, light green leaves of medium or large size with moderate leaf margin waviness. Tubers are oval-round or elongated-oval in shape, with small eyes of medium depth, covered with smooth or moderately textured yellow skin, and light-yellow flesh. Marketable tuber weight ranges from 89 to 196 grams, with up to 9-14 tubers per plant.
The yield of Sprint variety is high, ranging from 139 to 299 centners per hectare, with maximum yields reaching 313 c/ha. Marketability reaches 81-98%, and storability is 95-97%, ensuring long-term storage without significant quality loss. The variety has good taste and culinary type BC, making it versatile for boiling, baking, frying, and making mashed potatoes. Additionally, the potato is resistant to mechanical damage, facilitating transportation and storage.
Sprint variety exhibits high resistance to potato cancer pathogen and golden potato cyst nematode, significantly reducing disease risks. According to phytopathology data, it is moderately susceptible to foliage and moderately resistant to tubers to late blight. Thanks to these characteristics and adaptability to various soil types, the variety is suitable for cultivation in different regions, including the Volga-Vyatka, Central, Central Chernozem, and North Caucasus regions.
