ES Fortem Sulfo is a new hybrid specifically developed for cultivation in arid regions. It features high drought resistance, enabling it to achieve its yield potential even under water scarcity. The hybrid belongs to the intensive group with a potential yield of up to 54 t/ha, reaching 28-29 t/ha under limited water conditions. In regions such as Poltava and Vinnytsia, with minimal fertilizer application, the yield is 35-38 t/ha. The vegetation period lasts 105 days, ensuring early harvest and timely field preparation for winter crops.
ES Fortem Sulfo exhibits high genetic resistance to 7 or more races of the parasitic weed dodder, significantly simplifying its cultivation in areas where this pest is widespread. Due to this resistance, the use of Euronighting can be avoided on these fields. The hybrid is also tolerant to the herbicide Granstar (tribenuron-methyl) at rates up to 50 g/ha, enabling effective control of broadleaf weeds and improving crop quality. Additionally, the hybrid is tolerant to the herbicide Express PX, expanding the options for crop protection.
Plants reach a height of approximately 170 cm, the flower head diameter is about 22 cm, and the oil content of the seeds is at 46-47%. The seeds undergo professional cleaning before sowing and are available in several calibrations, including standard fractions with sack weights of 6-7 kg and extra fractions of 8-9 kg. The recommended cultivation zone is steppe and forest-steppe, where the hybrid demonstrates stable yields ranging from 35 to 45 t/ha. ES Fortem Sulfo is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to obtain high-quality sunflower yields under challenging climatic conditions.
