Strube's German breeding focus consistently prioritizes stress tolerance and grain filling stability. The Imitop sunflower hybrid is a mid-season variety (100–110 days), engineered for intensive farming systems where weed control and pathogen resistance are paramount.

Phytosanitary Barrier

The hybrid's genetic profile is focused on blocking the most dangerous sunflower fungal infections. Internal defense mechanisms include resistance to:

• Phomopsis and rust, which can devastate foliage during the active flowering phase.
• A complex of rots (white and gray), which is critical during wet weather in the second half of the vegetation period, preventing lodging and head degradation.

Agrotechnical Solutions

Imitop is developed for Clearfield technology, utilizing herbicides based on imazamox and imazapyr. This enables effective control over a wide spectrum of weeds, including broomrape, without compromising crop health. With a stem height of 170–180 cm, the hybrid provides high harvest efficiency, while the medium-sized, semi-convex head minimizes losses during mechanical threshing.

Seed Morphology and Yield Quality

The seeds feature a narrow-ovate shape, ranging from medium to large in size. The black color of the pericarp indicates high seed density and maturity. Economically, an oil content of 45–50% makes this hybrid highly attractive to processing plants, ensuring a stable yield of final product.
