Zimbru sunflower hybrid is an early-maturing variety characterized by high resistance to fusarium, as well as white and gray mold. The plant is of medium height, with medium-sized light-green leaves and weak venation. The flower heads are flat and inclined at about a 45-degree angle, with curved stems and medium size. The seeds have an elongated-oval shape, primarily black with clearly defined edge stripes and faint gray stripes between them. The potential yield of the hybrid ranges from 3.0 to 3.4 tons per hectare, confirmed by trials in the Central Chernozem and North Caucasus regions, where yields exceeded standard benchmarks by 13-14%. The 1000-seed mass varies from 48 to 54 grams. Oil content in dry seeds reaches 50-54%, and in the kernel — 65-70%, ensuring high oil extraction efficiency. The average oil content in seeds is approximately 49-50%, enabling a stable and high oil harvest reaching over 11 centners per hectare. The Zimbru hybrid does not branch, has moderate hairiness on the upper stem part, and elongated-oval ligulate flowers of yellow color, while tubular flowers are orange without anthocyanin pigmentation on the stigma. The plant is suitable for cultivation in various regions, including the Central Chernozem and North Caucasus, and demonstrates stable yield and oil content. The hybrid producer is Agroselect Semences from Moldova.
