Christmas Basket is a remontant variety of hot pepper, intended for cultivation in pot culture for both decorative and culinary purposes. Plants reach a height of 25 to 35 centimeters and can successfully be grown in the same location for 3-4 years under optimal conditions. This variety is especially suitable for growing indoors, on windowsills, balconies, and in pots, making it convenient for urban dwellers.
The fruits of the Christmas Basket are small, weighing about 3 grams, conical in shape. They are characterized by bright, multi-colored coloring, which changes during ripening: from light green through purple to bright yellow. Up to 120 fruits can develop on a single plant, ensuring abundant and prolonged fruiting. Simultaneously with the fruits, the plants bloom, giving them an ornamental and eye-catching appearance.
Despite its decorative qualities, this variety retains a spicy flavor and aroma, making it an excellent spice for culinary use. The spiciness of the fruits is rated at 5-6 points, allowing their use in preparing various spicy dishes. In Western European countries, the Christmas Basket is valued not only for its flavor but also for its festive appearance, which is why it is often grown for Christmas.
