The BABY SUMMER pepper variety is a miniature evergreen shrub, ideally suited for cultivation both indoors and on balconies or in open ground. The bushes are compact, spreading, and heavily branched, reaching a height of 20 to 50 cm. The plant tolerates low light well and prefers abundant watering, making it suitable for year-round cultivation in pots on windowsills.
The fruits of this variety are small, round or slightly elongated, the size of a cherry, and are distinguished by their bright coloration: on one bush, white, yellow, orange, and red peppers may ripen simultaneously. In full maturity, they turn bright red, possess a pleasant aroma, and have a sharp, fiery taste with a heat level of 5,000 to 10,000 Scoville units. The flavor of the fruits is slightly sweet with pronounced spiciness, making them versatile for fresh consumption, sauce preparation, drying, and canning.
This variety is early-maturing with an extended ripening period that may last up to four months. For cultivation, it is recommended to sow seedlings in late February to early March, followed by transplanting in the cotyledon stage and planting out in late May with an interval of about 30 cm. In addition to culinary uses, BABY SUMMER is valued for its decorative qualities, enhancing interior decor and creating a cozy atmosphere thanks to its bright fruits and compact form.
