Ozornik

Ozornik pepper is a decorative plant with dark-purple leaves and miniature fruits that change color from dark green to red when ripe. The plant grows to a height of 30-60 cm and has a compact, spherical crown. The fruits are narrow, conical or round, weighing 50-70 g, with thin walls of 3-4 mm thickness and a very spicy taste. Due to its decorative appeal and vibrant coloring, Ozornik is ideal for cultivation both outdoors and in greenhouses, as well as indoors on windowsills or balconies.

This variety is mid-season, with fruit ripening occurring 95-115 days after germination. The pepper is low-maintenance and resistant to drought and excessive sun, growing well under reduced light. For cultivation, it is recommended to sow seedlings in late February, followed by transplanting at the cotyledon stage and planting in the ground by late May. Plants form naturally without the need to remove side shoots, but leaf removal up to the first fork can be done if desired to improve growth. The optimal planting scheme is 30x40 or 50x50 cm.

Ozornik pepper is widely used in cooking for marinades, sauces, salad dressings, and can be added to hot dishes such as braised meat and soups. Moderate consumption of the fruits helps strengthen the body, improve digestion, and increase appetite. The yield per plant is about 0.25-0.35 kg, making this variety not only decorative but also useful for home gardens.
