Riazor pepper is an early-maturing first-generation hybrid with red cube-shaped fruits, distinguished by their large size and uniformity. The plant is vigorous, plastic, and generative, with a strong root system and good leafiness, ensuring high productivity and the ability to form 2-4 stems. Fruits weigh between 180 to 220 grams, are approximately 7.5 cm long and 8 cm in diameter, have excellent flavor, and maintain marketable appearance throughout the season. Fruit color is a vibrant red with a gloss; under insufficient light or late sowing, they may remain green.
The hybrid exhibits high resistance to diseases, particularly tobacco mosaic virus (Tm:0-3). Due to its high fruit load and strong plants, Riazor ensures a stable and high yield. It is recommended for cultivation in glass-covered greenhouses with extended cropping cycles, where conditions can be controlled for optimal ripening. To accelerate fruit ripening, early fruits are harvested green, followed by maintaining daytime temperature at 21°C and nighttime at 19°C. Pinching side shoots at two leaves promotes better fruit development, and increasing potassium in the nutrient solution accelerates ripening.
During summer, to maintain fruit quality, shading and regular harvesting every 1-2 weeks are recommended. Riazor pepper is suitable for garden and greenhouse cultivation and is distinguished by its high marketability and excellent fruit quality, making it an attractive choice for both commercial and hobbyist growers.
