Ilanga F1

Sweet pepper Ilanga F1 is a medium-late hybrid with a cube-shaped form, developed by the Dutch breeding company Rijk Zwaan. The plant is determinate, with strong growth and a well-developed root system, ensuring good resistance to adverse growing conditions. Compact bushes with an open habit and well-developed foliage are especially important in hot weather. Ilanga F1 is suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in greenhouse tunnels and low tunnels, without requiring staking or pruning.

The peppers have a cube shape with four chambers, reaching up to 10 cm in length and 9 cm in diameter, with wall thickness of 7-8 mm and weight ranging from 200 to 250 grams, sometimes up to 400 grams. During ripening, the fruits change color from deep green to bright yellow, giving them an attractive market appearance. The flesh is sweet, juicy, and nutritious, with high dry matter content, making the pepper ideal for fresh consumption, canning, processing, and freezing. The market appearance of the fruits is retained even after long transport and storage.

Hybrid Ilanga F1 exhibits high resistance to several diseases, including potato virus, bacterial spot, and tobamovirus, significantly reducing the risks during cultivation. The recommended planting density is 3 plants per square meter in protected cultivation and 30-35 thousand plants per hectare in open ground.
