Carmine pepper is an early-maturing sweet pepper suitable for cultivation both in open fields and in plastic greenhouses. The period from mass germination to fruit ripening is approximately 110-112 days. The plant is indeterminate, bushy, up to 75 cm tall, with a compact bush without lateral branches, eliminating the need for additional pruning. Fruits are elongated-conical, about 19-20 cm long and 4.7 cm in diameter, with 2-3 chambers and a weight of 95-120 g. Fruit wall thickness varies from 4 to 6 mm, ensuring juicy and dense flesh. The fruit skin is tender, and the flesh is sweet with a distinct spicy aroma. In technical ripeness, fruits are green, and in biological ripeness — deep red, making them attractive to consumers. Vitamin C content in the fruits is high — 228-290 mg%, and dry matter content reaches 15%. There is also a significant amount of carotenoids, up to 550 mcg per 100 g dry weight, contributing to the pepper’s beneficial properties and vibrant color. Due to these characteristics, Carmine pepper is excellent for fresh consumption, such as in salads, as well as for processing, including paprika powder and relish production. The variety has good yield — in plastic greenhouses, it reaches 4.5 kg per square meter. Carmine exhibits high resistance to diseases and adapts well to various growing conditions, making it a reliable choice for gardeners and farmers. Seeds of this variety produce healthy plants with bright, large fruits that combine excellent taste qualities and beneficial nutrients.
