Lido pepper is an early-maturing hybrid sweet pepper with high yield, reaching up to 11-12 kg per square meter. The plant is medium-height, semi-spreading, about 60 cm tall, requires pruning to 2-3 stems and mandatory support for proper growth. The variety is adapted for cultivation both in greenhouses and open fields, making it suitable for most regions of Russia.
The fruits of the Lido pepper are large and elongated, trapezoidal in shape with a strong glossy sheen. Their length ranges from 200 to 240 mm, diameter — 70-85 mm, and average weight — 200-320 g. In technical maturity, the fruits are dark green, while in biological maturity they have a rich burgundy-cherry color. The fruit walls are thick, about 7-8 mm, with juicy, crisp, sweet, and aromatic flesh, making them an excellent choice for fresh consumption, culinary use, and whole-fruit canning.
The variety is characterized by high resistance and tolerance to a range of viral diseases, including tobacco mosaic virus, tomato bronze virus, potato virus, and tomato mosaic virus. To achieve maximum yield, it is recommended to follow a planting scheme with 60-70 cm between rows and 35-40 cm within rows, and to apply 1-2 feedings during traditional soil preparation. All these characteristics make Lido pepper attractive to both hobbyists and professionals who value quality and reliability.
