The pepper variety COMETA is a mid-season hybrid designed for cultivation in both polyethylene greenhouses and open ground, primarily in southern regions. The vegetation period ranges from 96 to 120 days depending on conditions. The plant is compact, bushy, of medium height — from 100 to 130 cm, with good foliage. After transplanting into a greenhouse, it is recommended to remove side shoots and leaves up to the first fork, as well as to tie the plant to a support to ensure optimal growth and fruit formation. The planting scheme is 40x60 cm. The COMETA pepper fruits are conical, slightly ribbed, weighing from 110 to 150 grams, with wall thickness of 5-7 mm. In technical ripeness, they have a light-yellow color, while in biological ripeness — bright red. The skin is smooth and tender, and the flesh is fleshy and sweet. The pepper has excellent taste qualities, making it versatile for use in fresh vitamin salads, slicing, stuffing, freezing, and canning. The hybrid is characterized by high productivity, heat resistance, uniform fruit ripening, good storability, and transportability. Commercial yield reaches 6.3–7.5 kg per square meter. For cultivation, sowing should be done in late February or March with seed depth up to 1 cm. Pinching is performed in the 1–2 true leaf stage. Transplanting seedlings into greenhouses or open ground is done at the end of May. It is important to avoid proximity to sweet and hot pepper varieties to prevent cross-pollination and alteration of fruit taste. COMETA pepper is an excellent choice for those who value high quality, versatility of use, and a stable yield.
