Shakthi

Shakthi F1 cucumber is a self-pollinating parthenocarpic hybrid developed by the Dutch seed company Rijk Zwaan. This mid-season variety matures in 40-45 days and is suitable for cultivation primarily in open ground, as well as in plastic greenhouses. The plant features an indeterminate, tall, bushy growth with deep green, heart-shaped leaves, ensuring good development and high yield.

Shakthi cucumber fruits have a cornichon type, measuring 6-13 cm in length and weighing 63-110 g, with dark green coloring, sometimes with short stripes. The flesh is firm and juicy with a tangy-sweet flavor, making this variety especially appealing for fresh consumption, pickling, and preservation. The fruit length-to-diameter ratio is approximately 3.1:1, giving them a neat cylindrical shape.

The variety is characterized by high yield—up to 20-24 kg per square meter—and resistance to several diseases, including cladosporiosis, powdery mildew, downy mildew, and brown spot. However, it is sensitive to cucumber mosaic and requires good sunlight, so it is not recommended for shaded areas. Thanks to its qualities and adaptability, Shakthi cucumber is an excellent choice for gardeners seeking a stable and tasty harvest.
