Description

Sweet pepper variety Butuz is a medium-early type with a period from germination to fruiting onset of approximately 110-130 days. The plant is semi-spreading, reaching up to 80 cm in height, with dense dark green foliage. For optimal growth and fruiting, cultivation in plastic and glass greenhouses is recommended, although it can also be grown in open ground. The plant requires staking to supports and pinching until the first main stem fork, which promotes the formation of a strong and productive plant.

Fruits of the Butuz variety have a conical shape, slightly or moderately ribbed, usually 2-3-chambered. At biological maturity, they are bright red with a waxy sheen, reaching about 10 cm in length and 6 cm in diameter, with a weight of 120-180 grams. The fruit wall thickness is 6-7 mm, ensuring durability and good storage quality. The flesh is crisp, juicy, fleshy, with a delicate aroma and rich sweet flavor, making this pepper an excellent choice for fresh consumption, as well as for home cooking and canning.

The yield of this variety reaches 6.1 kg per square meter with proper agronomy, and this figure may be higher under greenhouse conditions. The pepper stores well and is suitable for use both fresh and dried or canned. Sowing for seedlings is recommended at the end of February with transplanting in the cotyledon stage, and transplanting into the ground should occur at the end of May, following a planting scheme of 40x60 cm. The Butuz variety is versatile and suitable for cultivation in various regions, ensuring a stable and high-quality harvest.
