Tulip Garanza

A peony-like accent for your garden

The 'Garanza' tulip is a choice for those seeking a balance between aesthetic appeal and reliability. While many early double tulips are notorious for their sensitivity to soil moisture, 'Garanza' stands out due to its high resistance to root rot and fusarium. This makes it an excellent option not only for professional floriculturists but also for home gardeners who prefer a low-maintenance approach without constant fungicide application.

Visual appeal and performance

The delicate pink hue of the petals gives the flower a distinct peony-like appearance. As a low-growing variety, it is perfect for foreground planting or creating neat, dense spring borders. You won't have to worry about strong spring winds toppling the stems; the compact height ensures exceptional durability against adverse weather conditions.

• Health: Strong innate immunity against ascochyta and fungal root pathogens.
• Bloom timing: Mid-season flowering allows 'Garanza' to perfectly bridge the gap after early-season bulbs.
• Versatility: Suitable for containers, planters, border edging, and alpine garden clusters.

Despite its many advantages, it is important to remember that, like any double-flowered variety, 'Garanza' requires good drainage. While it is disease-resistant, waterlogging can cause physiological damage to the bulb. By following basic planting guidelines, this variety rewards you with stable, uniform blooming and minimal loss throughout the season.
