Pelargonium Tango

Pelargonium «Tango»: Southern Resilience and Garden Versatility

Developed by the Federal Research Center «Subtropical Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences», the «Tango» pelargonium variety stands out as a robust, adaptive option for both hobbyist gardeners and professional landscapers. Unlike many greenhouse-dependent hybrids, this bush-type variety is engineered to tolerate fluctuations in environmental conditions without sacrificing its aesthetic appeal.

Key Features and Performance

The variety is defined by its classic green foliage and soft, delicate pink flowers. One of its strongest advantages is the stability of its color pigmentation, which remains vibrant even under prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. This makes it a dependable performer in outdoor settings, whereas many other varieties might fade or develop leaf scorch.

• Dual-Purpose Cultivation: «Tango» is equally effective as an outdoor bedding plant or an indoor potted ornamental.
• Sturdy Growth Habit: As a bush-type pelargonium, it maintains a dense structure that is easier to manage than trailing or tall varieties.
• Stress Resistance: Bred in a subtropical climate context, this variety shows superior tolerance to ambient temperature shifts compared to delicate imported hybrids.

Who is this variety for? «Tango» is an ideal choice for gardeners who value reliability over fragile novelty. It is a workhorse that provides consistent color from late spring through autumn. While it requires minimal fuss, proactive pinching of young shoots is recommended to keep the bush compact and encourage fuller blooming. For those looking for a low-maintenance yet high-impact plant for balcony boxes or garden borders, «Tango» offers the perfect balance of aesthetic charm and botanical endurance.
