Pelargonium Antonina

Genetic Profile and Adaptation

The 'Antonina' pelargonium variety, developed by the Federal Research Center for Subtropical Scientific Center of the RAS, represents a specific selection aimed at high-humidity environments typical of the Georgian subtropical climate. Unlike commercial hybrids designed for rapid forced growth, 'Antonina' features a stable, bush-type growth habit, which minimizes the need for synthetic growth regulators to manage internode elongation.

Technical Specifications

• Structural Growth: The plant maintains a naturally dense, compact architecture, making it highly efficient for space-constrained environments.
• Foliage and Photosynthesis: The vibrant green leaves provide optimal surface area for metabolic processes, ensuring consistent energy levels throughout the flowering stage.
• Floral Pigmentation: The pink flower heads are characterized by high pigment stability, maintaining saturation under direct UV exposure.

Operational Recommendations

Designed primarily for containerized environments, 'Antonina' is an ideal candidate for balcony landscaping and indoor cultivation. The root system is calibrated for restricted soil volumes; however, it requires well-drained substrate to prevent root zone saturation. Its high responsiveness to mineral supplementation allows for precise management of blooming intensity. Practical application shows that maintaining proper drainage and steady light access is sufficient to sustain the decorative aesthetic of the plant throughout the entire vegetation period.
