Pelargonium Ruby

Selection Heritage and Southern Character

The «Rubin» pelargonium is a product of rigorous breeding efforts by the Federal Research Center for Subtropical Science. This variety stands as a prime example of bush-type pelargoniums, with genetics deeply rooted in the warm climate zones of the Caucasus and Georgia. Developed specifically for environments that demand resilience against temperature fluctuations and high color intensity, «Rubin» has firmly established itself among both professionals and gardening enthusiasts focused on landscape design.

Visual Profile and Practical Adaptation

The name of the variety is perfectly matched by its visual performance. Its purple inflorescences, reaching 5-6 cm in diameter, stand out vibrantly against a backdrop of deep green foliage. Unlike many other decorative floral crops, «Rubin» lacks a distinct scent from its leaves, making it an ideal choice for terraces, entrance areas, and enclosed spaces where overpowering fragrances are discouraged.

• Growth Habit: A compact bush that maintains its structural integrity without becoming leggy.
• Application: Equally suited for open ground and container gardening. The variety shows excellent plasticity, looking striking in large-scale flowerbeds or singular balcony pots.
• Performance: High ornamental value throughout the entire season with minimal maintenance requirements.

Today, «Rubin» is regarded as a time-tested breeding model that balances strict, clean lines with bold color. Its scent-free nature, combined with high aesthetic appeal, makes it a favored choice for urban landscaping, where the goal is to balance impactful blooms with environmental neutrality.
