Pink geranium (pelargonium) – a perennial plant growing 35 to 60 cm tall, easy to grow both in the garden and indoors. Small flowers in a light pink shade, gathered in spherical inflorescences, create a bright decorative effect. The plant blooms from spring until the first frost, and the flowering period can last several months.
For sowing seeds, loose, well-moistened soil is recommended; seedlings appear at 24 °C within 10–15 days. After germination, seedlings are pricked out over 6–10 weeks. Under indoor conditions, seeds can be sown year-round – the plant adapts quickly to bright but diffused conditions.
Care for pink geranium is simple: regular watering but without overmoistening; the top layer of soil should dry out between waterings. During summer months, fertilize once a month with special preparations for flowering plants. If necessary, pruning after flowering maintains a compact shape and stimulates new growth. The plant prefers a temperature of 18–24 °C, avoiding cold drafts. Thanks to the bright pink inflorescences and light aroma, pink geranium becomes a popular choice for pot compositions and stands in the interior.
