Dobryanka

Dobryanka pear — an early autumn variety, developed by Ural breeders L.A. Kотов and G.N. Tarasova in 1975 by crossing variety #2-39 with the variety Pervenets. In 2004, the variety was included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements for the Volga-Vyatka region and is successfully grown in Sverdlovsk, Perm, Chelyabinsk regions, as well as in Udmurtia and Bashkortostan. Trees are medium-sized, fast-growing, with a wide pyramidal crown that naturally forms without overcrowding, facilitating care and harvest.

Dobryanka fruits are large — from 145 to 190 grams, have a elongated lemon-pear shape with smooth surface. Their color changes from dark green to yellowish-green with a blurred, brownish-red striping of medium intensity on parts of the fruit. The flesh is yellowish, medium density, very juicy and tender, without gritty cells, with excellent sweet-tart flavor, rated 4.7–4.8 points. Fruits ripen at the beginning of September and retain their flavor for up to 30 days.

The variety is characterized by high winter hardiness and resistance to spring frosts during flowering. It is also resistant to scab and practically unaffected by pear gall mite, reducing the need for intensive plant protection. Due to its characteristics, Dobryanka is suitable for both private gardens and industrial production, ensuring a stable and high-quality yield that is versatile in use — fruits are tasty both fresh and processed.
