Pear New Mliyevskaya

A Reliable Choice for Winter Orchards

The 'Novynka Mliivska' pear, developed by the L.P. Simirenko Institute of Pomology, stands out as a top-tier choice for regions with challenging climates. Its defining characteristic is exceptional winter hardiness, surviving temperatures as low as -35°C, making it a robust, low-risk investment for any orchard.

Why choose 'Novynka Mliivska'?

• Superior Fruit Quality: The fruits are large (180–250g) and boast a delicious sweet flavor with a juicy, tender texture—a rare trait for winter-ripening pears.
• Disease Resistance: Natural resistance to scab significantly reduces the need for constant fungicide applications, promoting healthier growth.
• Storage and Logistics: These pears excel in transportability and have an impressive shelf life of over 4 months, ensuring fruit is available well into the cold season.

Practical Insights: While many imported varieties require intensive care, 'Novynka Mliivska' is valued for its hardiness and consistency. However, prospective growers should note its vigorous growth pattern. The tree requires strategic pruning to manage its size and keep the canopy accessible for harvesting. It is the ideal solution for both small-scale gardeners wanting low-maintenance trees and commercial farmers looking for a high-performing, long-storing winter variety.
