Description

The Trambita pear is a medium-sized fruit tree with a broad pyramidal and compact crown, reaching a height of 3.2–3.6 meters and a diameter of 2.2–2.6 meters at 10 years of age. The tree begins fruiting at 3–4 years and is characterized by annual, abundant yields, which can reach 175–420 centners per hectare for 7–10-year-old trees. The variety is resistant to scab and adapts well to various soil types, although it has insufficient winter hardiness in the forest-steppe and especially the Polissia regions of Ukraine.

The fruits of the Trambita pear are large, weighing 230–240 to 280–320 grams, have an elongated pear shape, and ripen simultaneously. The skin is thin, tough, shiny, and waxy to the touch; during the harvest-ripe stage, it is light green with a slight blush, and upon full ripening, it turns golden-yellow. The flesh is very juicy, oily, free of granules, with a pleasant sour-sweet flavor and a mild nutmeg aroma.

This variety is primarily consumed fresh, but its juicy and oily flesh is also excellent for making jams, preserves, and various types of conservation. The variety requires moderate watering and tolerates drought well, making it attractive for cultivation in diverse climatic conditions. Due to its taste qualities and beneficial properties, the Trambita pear is an excellent choice for both private gardeners and commercial cultivation.
